Wilsie Odell Woods, age 81 of Ferrum, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008.
He was born July 13, 1926 a son of the late Jesse and Lura Stanley Woods. He was also preceded in death by his infant son, Bruce Randall Woods; brother, Roy Woods; sisters, Lottie Cooper, Dorothy Blankenship.
Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Garnett Scott Woods; one daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Price Cook; one granddaughter, Erica Cook; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Ronald Holley, Janet and Paul Stanaland; brother-in-law, Ronnie Cooper; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Buren Woods, Ernest Woods, Harold and Virginia Woods, Jackie and Nancy Woods, Katherine Woods; two special girls in his life, Brittany Smith and Elizabeth Cowen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kermit and Margaret Scott, Carl Scott, Danny and Judy Scott, Louise Wagner, Wayne and Darlene Guilliams, Douglas Scott.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Jim Walls and Rev. Bud Roth officiating. Interment will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ferrum.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with his family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
