Wilson Henry Kinsey, age 79 of Boones Mill died Monday, November 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents John Tazewell & Olivia Mae (Overfelt) Kinsey; brothers, Paul Ervin Kinsey, John Tazewell (J.T.) Kinsey, Jr., Wallace Overfelt Kinsey, Charles Douglas Kinsey; sisters, Ruby Jewell Wray, Betty Jo Fisher, Georgianna Kathryn (Ann) Scarborough; and brother-in-law, Dalton E. Swanson. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joyce Elaine (Swanson) Kinsey; children, Gwynn Lee Kinsey, Wilson Henry Kinsey II (Brinda), and Linda Gayle (Kinsey) Floyd; brother, George Kinsey and wife Lavana; sister, Hazel Harrison and husband Grover; brother-in-law, Lewis Carlton Swanson; grandchildren, Zachariah Wilson Sizer (Monica), Tracy Cristina Kinsey, Wilson Henry (Billy) Kinsey III, Brandi Nicole Loving, Dakota Austin Mangum, Logan Matthew Floyd, Kane Anthony Braley, Emma Lauren Braley, and MacKenzie Leigh-Anne Ambrose; great-granddaughter, Olivia Sizer; foster children, Ray Anthony Braley, Jr. and Tonya Levinsohn, and many more; honorary daughter, Lora Dillon Manning (he called her Liza Jane). Special thanks to Brinda Lee (Dillon) & Wilson Henry Kinsey II, Kathy S. Kinsey from Callaway, VA, and Wilson Henry (Billy) Kinsey III for all their endless dedication and help for the last seven years. Wilson had 37 years service with Roanoke City Fire Department where he retired as Captain. He was also a member of Isaac’s Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. and the Kazim Temple of the Shrine of Roanoke. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Robert Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park with Masonic Rites by Isaac’s Lodge. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
