Winston Leon Yopp

Winston Leon Yopp, age 64 of Glade Hill, Virginia left this world on Monday, December 12, 2016 to be with his Heavenly Father and his loved ones waiting on Heaven’s shore. Preceded him in death are his parents, Charles Noel and Okie Shorter Yopp; his brother, Malvin J. Yopp; and his sisters, Christie Belle Yopp, Alice Elizabeth Rodriguez, Geraldine Stegall, and Emma S. Toney. Leaving to cherish his memory are his son, Ernest J. Yopp (Karan) of Glade Hill, VA; his brothers, Wilbert W. Yopp of Thompson, OH, James W. Yopp, Henry H. Yopp and Charles W. Yopp all of Rocky Mount, VA; sisters, Joyce A. Jones, Victoria L. Adams (Larry) and Darlene M. Irby (Fred) all of Elgin, SC, Mary L. Broughman of Bassett, VA, Barbara E. Grimes and Diana Wright both of Rocky Mount, VA. He also leaved behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly, especially Henry Noel (HN) and wife Jordan who lived with him and cared for him the last couple of years, and his great-niece, Brandi Booth whom he loved as a granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:30 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in the Yopp Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of his sister, Diane Wright, 70 Double Branch Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. The family would like to thank all the acts of kindness shown to them during their time of sorrow.
