Zelma Plybon Cundiff, age 94 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 with her children at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ransom and Annie Smith Plybon; her sisters, Elsie Robertson and Dossie Crouch; and her husband, Berkley Giles Cundiff. Zelma and Berkley owned and operated Cundiff Tractor and Equipment for many years. Mrs. Cundiff was a long-time member of the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Cundiff Barnhart (Roanoke); and her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Pat Cundiff (Rocky Mount). Also to cherish her memory are her grandchildren and their spouses, Benjy and Nadine Barnhart (Munich, Germany), Amanda and Davey Arthur (Roanoke), Ricky Barnhart (Roanoke), Matt and Robin Cundiff (Bedford), Adam and Ashley Cundiff (Rocky Mount), and Daniel Cundiff (Roanoke). She was great-grandma to Ria Barnhart, Luke Arthur, Bailey, Barrett, Bristol, Berkley, Brady and Sylvia Cundiff, Also surviving is Barbara B. Cundiff, her friend and sister-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 N. Main Street on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce D. Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Building Fund, 35 N.
