Zula Blankenship Perdue, age 84 of Union Hall died Tuesday, August 7, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Perdue; granddaughter, Jaclyn Howard; brothers, Laymon Blankenship, Claude Blankenship, H.A. Blankenship, Russell Blankenship; sisters, Clara Little, Thelma Bradford; parents, James and Missie Blankenship. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Howard; god-daughter, Jade Perdue-Puli and her husband, Bala Puli; god-grandchildren, Benjaman Puli, Indura Puli (whom she was known as “Big Granny”); sister, Ruby Perdue; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Geraldine Hylton; sister-in-law, Pauline Perdue; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Otey and Marie Perdue; good friend, Janet Richardson; her walking buddies, Margie McGuire, Carol Tenbrooke and Linda Firebaugh; other family members and friends. She was a devoted member of Penhook United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She loved her family and friends and was a wonderful mother and “Big Granny”. She enjoyed being outdoors and always had a warm smile to everyone. Zula had a full life to the very end. Special thanks to Glade Hill Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Judy Short officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
