James A Scott

James A. Scott, age 74 of Bassett passed away at home on Thursday, October 12, 2017. He was self-employed in construction; he loved hunting, camping, fishing and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mildred Shively Scott; and his beloved pet, Taco. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Regina; son, Mike Scott (Donna); daughter, Robin Keeler (Tim); grandchildren, Amber Pilson (Chad), Whitney Scott and Alan Keeler; one expected great granddaughter on Valentine’s Day 2018; sisters, Doris Carter, Phyllis Young (Joel), Wanda Scott and Rita Scott; several nieces and nephews; and his favorite pet, Roscoe. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 with Pastor Roger Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
