William "Butch" Flemon Moran, Jr.

William “Butch” Flemon Moran, Jr., age 72 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord leaving behind many loved ones Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Flemon Moran, Sr.; brothers, Michael Alan Moran and Jeffrey Lynn (Jeff) Moran. Surviving are his mother, Dee Kalmbach; his faithful wife, Patricia; his three daughters, Lorrie Cole, Melissa Anderson (Brad), and Rebecca Yopp; his twelve grandchildren, Layla (Chris) Brown, Hunter (Taylor), Brianna, Angel Blackwell, CJ and Cayden Cole, Dakota (Morgan) and Arianna Anderson (Kendra), Julianna (Bre), Zachary (Paris), Rihanna, and Branson Yopp; five great grandchildren with one on the way Tilden, Callie, Kenzlee, Kimberlyn, Cason, and Baby P.; his brother, Euell Moran (LaVerne); sister, Vana Moran McClanahan, sister n law, Dana Moran, with many nieces and nephews. He had special friends that often visited Harold Angle, Gary Meeks, Paul Swecker, H.L. Nolen, Kenny Perdue, and many other friends. Butch was the life of the party and would always make you laugh with his stories (rather they were always true or a little stretched). He was a lifetime member of the Franklin County Rescue Squad, worked as a deputy for the Office of the Sheriff in Franklin County, and owned and operated Moran Tours. He loved Patricia with all his heart and wanted to make sure she was well taken care of. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back to anyone he met. His biggest asset was his family and how proud he was to call each of them his own. Anytime his grandchildren would bring friends along the way he would adopt them as his own. Funeral services will be held at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022 with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will include: Cory (Diddle) Montgomery, Kelly Moran, Hunter Blackwell, Dakota Anderson, Zachary Yopp, C.J. Cole, Cayden Cole, and Branson Yopp. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
