Mary Ann Honaker-Deare, 31, passed away on February 9, 2025, in Glade Hill, Virginia. Born on December 30, 1993, in Blacksburg, Virginia, Mary brought joy and light into the world from the very beginning.
A graduate who embraced life with open arms and a radiant spirit, Mary was known for her infectious laughter and the way she could brighten any room simply by walking into it. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her—uplifting, joyful, and deeply loving.
Mary found profound peace and inspiration in nature. She loved being outdoors, collecting rocks, and immersing herself in the beauty of the natural world. Her spiritual connection to life was evident in everything she did. Whether surrounded by trees or under a starlit sky, she felt at home in creation’s quiet majesty.
Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Deare; their three children—Michael, Mason, and Melody—who were the center of her world; her mother, Shannon Honaker; her father, John Honaker; and her two brothers, Ronnie and Jonathan Honaker. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering.
Mary’s memory is also held dear by those who knew her grandparents: Leona and Madison Honaker; Karen Blankenship; James Watkins; and Charlie Gates—all of whom preceded her in death.
A deeply spiritual soul, Mary lived with an open heart and a generous spirit. She loved life—and everything about it—with a passion that inspired those around her. Her laughter still echoes in the hearts of those she touched.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her light continues in every life she touched.
Her love remains, her laughter echoes, and her spirit walks with us still.
May God hold her in eternal peace, and may we carry forward the warmth
she so freely gave.
Celtic Blessing
“Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.”
